From Loose Tubes to Polar bear, Mark Lockheart has been a key figure in the development of British jazz. His playing is genre and career defining, running the gamut from big band to classical, experimental to electric, his talent knows no bounds.
KAIYO have performed both as a duo (Simon Purcell & Amy Baldwin) and as a trio. Tonight they are expanding into a quartet with Corrie Dick on drums and featuring saxophonist Mark Lockheart – much admired, multi award-winning saxophonist and composer. https://www.marklockheart.co.uk

Since coming to fame with Loose Tubes in the 1980’s, multi-award winning Mark Lockheart Lockheart has been in the vanguard of British jazz for four decades. Mark co-founder of “Perfect Houseplants” toured and recorded with Django Bates, Mike Gibbs, Mark Anthony Turnage, his own 11 piece “Scratch Band” and Seb Rochford’s highly acclaimed “Polar Bear”. His recent album ‘Smiling’ is already attracting plaudits.
