Adam Bishop Quintet

1 February @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Band line-up:

Adam Bishop (alto saxophone), James Wade-Sired (trombone), Nick Tomalin (piano), Dominic Howles (bass), Matt Fishwick (drums).

The Adam Bishop Quartet came together in 2021, with the aim of performing the original arrangements of key compositions from the bebop repertoire of the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s. Avoiding the compositions of Charlie Parker, they draw on the work of writers such as Bud Powell, Tadd Dameron, John Lewis, George Shearing and Dizzy Gillespie.

UK-born Adam Bishop was raised in Australia, completing a degree in jazz performance in Canberra, and refining his art in New York. He has been performing on the UK scene since 1998, releasing an album ‘Sanctuary’ in 2007.

“A gorgeously lyrical saxophonist” Chris May – Allaboutjazz

For this performance, the band are joined by James Wade-Sired on trombone to form a quintet. James Wade-Sired is one of the really impressive young trombonists currently appearing on the UK jazz scene.

“Wade-Sired…showing a confidence and maturity way beyond his…years held the audience captive with a spellbinding solo that makes one wonder what this young man will accomplish in the future: a star in the making!” The Jazz Mann
