Karamel Music Club with Kathryn Williams [Wed 23 Nov 2011]
Eagerly awaited details about the next KMC night at the Karamel restaurant/gallery/venue.
What a great line up! All this for free? Are you pulling my jambon? And Chef Ian Marvell is serving up a top-notch menu to stimulate the taste buds whilst your ears are serenaded by…
With over ten albums to her name and a mercury music prize nomination to boot, Kathryn Williams is a British Folk Legend. One of the loveliest human beings you’ll ever meet and that just pours out of the her music. She writes lyrics and melodies that sound like they’ve been weaved from the loose thread from an angel’s scarf, and delivers them with a voice so pure it’s a surprise Evian don’t pay her millions to sign into the clouds above the mountains! As you can tell, we’re ecstatic she’s playing!
The Independent called him a ‘Guitar Wizard’ and it’s not hard to see why. Great voice, beautiful tunes: Albert is going to hypnotise you. Coming all the way over from Ireland, we’re extremely happy to be having him… have a listen on his website and you’ll see why.
Andy Bruce
Keyboard player with Earland and the Carnival amongst many others, but an outstanding writer in his own right. Andy is bringing his solo project to the KMC for the first time. Wonderfully dark, melodic, haunting tunes that remind me of what I loved about early Elbow. A few sprinkings of Gene for good luck.
