Karamel Music Club
Karousel and PledgeMusic collaboration sees 4 hot, emerging talents in North London’s greatest hidden jewel of a venue, Kabaret at Karamel.
/// Anna Pancaldi ///
With her new single going to number 6 on the itunes singer-songwriter chart – solely on pre-release – we’re all hoping for some good times ahead for Anna. Having won a place in a band put together by Huw Stephens and O2 Think Big, Anna went straight out on the road around the Academy venues, supporting Rita Ora, Rudimental, The Noisettes and Tinchy Stryder.
Lead track from the Black Tears Ep, ‘Out Ahead’ was produced by Grammy music producer Simon Gogerly (Paloma Faith, U2, No Doubt) and she has collaborated with Huntsmen (Foals, Scott Matthews) on ‘Black Tears’ and ‘Steal Away’ – proof of the endorsement of all the right people at this chrysalis stage of her career. She has her EP launch on March 25, and we’re delighted to be able to give you all a sneaky peek at her a month early!
/// Gitta De Ridder ///
Drawing on elements of Iron & Wine, Ane Brun, Anais Mitchell and Fink, Netherlands born, London dweller Gitta is a singer songwriter described by Folk Radio as ‘beautifully simple… a remarkable voice… she really is a wonderful singer…”
It’s Gitta’s first Karousel show, and we’re very much looking forward to welcoming such a warm, engaging performer with some cracking tunes and a wonderful, characterful voice.
/// John Lewis ///
This is not an ordinary artist, this is a John Lewis… sorry… couldn’t resist.
In the words of Q Magazine… “International rockabilly legend as frontman for the Rimshots, and solo an electrifying performer combining dazzling guitar with a glorious life-soaked voice which brings heart and depth to both classics and his own impressive songs. Be mesmerised by the missing link between Johnny B Goode and Johnny Cash… and in the words or Imelda may – ‘He’s amazing, a real treasure!”. We’re about nothing if not supporting an eclectic array of proper writers, and John has earned his right to the great support he’s getting currently from 6Music with a superb discography, and his new campaign is currently steaming ahead on Pledgemusic. Get throwing your gold coins in the tin!
Poetry: My Life in Pictures
Five poetry-making workshops in which we will examine who we think we are. Keeping Shakespeare’s Seven Ages of Man as our rough template and narrowing it down to five, we will examine our lives from babyhood to the present and even venture into the future. As well as reading a relevant poem or two, we will use photos and other aids to provoke and stimulate our memory and imagination, finishing the course with poem sequences unique to our own personal histories.

Check the flyer for ticket price and arrive before 8pm for super cheap entry. Jah bless.
