Sammy Soso – Success at the Grammys

We congratulate Samuel Awuku aka “Sammy Soso” on the Grammy win for the self-produced and co-written song “Water” sung by world acclaimed artist “Tyla”; the Grammy award gained was for “Best African music performance”.

Sammy started out on one of the Collage Arts projects helping young creatives break into the industry. He went on to become one of Collage Arts tutors using the skills he gained on the Collage Arts digital and creative media courses. During his time at College, Sammy and some of his friends formed a collective of creatives called “Boom Entertainment” which was a collective of creatives in music, media, film, photography, graphics and putting on Talent shows across London. Collage Arts recognised this by providing them with a studio space at the then former Chocolate Factory building and Sammy worked further on his production skills. The group mutually split up to all embark on solo careers. Sammy did this and teamed up with producer PJ2. They are one of the leading Production teams for the biggest African artists such as Wizkid – Burna Boy – Davido. Doing productions for the likes of JME – KSI. At present he has also been nominated for a Brit award for International song of the year with Tyla – “Water” and Mastercard Album of the year for J-Hus – “Beautiful and Brutal Yard”.

We wish Sammy Soso all the best and many more musical accolades to come.
