New Season of Collage Presents!
Poetry
Friday nights of Poetry and Spoken Word spring into life with the ever so popular Poetry and Poppadums on 18 January 2019. Featuring the “delightfully inventive” John Hegley, “funny and moving” Asher Hoyles, hosted by “playfully absurd” Paul Lyalls. And that’s not all! A potage of known and unknown poets will perform at REaD Rhymes LIVE on 25th January. Find tickets here, or buy on the the door.
Jazz
New and fresh Jazz launches on Thursday 24th January 2019, and Thursdays onwards. Highlights include monthly residency by Tristan Mailliot (drummer) bringing his Quartet with Tom Ridout (saxophonist – BBC Young Musician 2016 Jazz Award Finalist), Chris Eldred (pianist) and Flo Moore (bassist); The Loire Funk Project with the formidable Gareth Lockrane (flautist) “…a stunning display of sharp-accented runs, earthy whoops and constantly refreshed melodic ideas” (John Fordham, The Guardian). Mark Ridout (one of UK’s most sought after guitarists) and Will Barry (piano); Jacqui Hicks (vocals/sax, toured with Shakatak, Matt Bianco) and her Quartet. Also showcasing for the first time at Karamel are: Gemini Trio (pictured), Big Momma’s House, Gege Diodato, Weegee, Paul Westwood FX, Wendy Kirkland, the Toots Project and rising stars of Tomorrow’s Warriors bringing their fresh take on modern jazz.
