He has sung with Crouch End Festival Chorus\, Cholmeley Choral Society and VOX Holloway and has performed at The Royal Albert Hall\, The Royal Festival Hall and St James’s Piccadilly. \nLaura Druce is a composer\, songwriter\, performer and music teacher working in North London. She has had her songs performed at The Royal Albert Hall\, The Wigmore Hall\, and Alexandra Palace. This will be a specially curated event consisting of headline performers\, open mic\, food & drink\, networking opportunities\, an intentional ritual and a mystery prize. 🎤 🏆 🥭 \nThere will be six headline performers: Shohid Rahman\, Muzibur Rahman\, Liba Ravindran\, Ms Defiance\, Soulful Si and Kabbo Hue Qua👏🏾 \nWe are asking people to buy tickets for this event so that we can pay our performers\, and to provide the means for us to continue our work collectively. I’ve been writing poems for about five years and am currently writing a play based in ancient Athens. My poems tend to be on personal\, political and philosophical themes. I call them the three Ps. And although physics starts with a p\, I can promise you there is no physics in my poetry. \nLiba Ravindran: Liba Ravindran (he/they) is a spoken word poet\, community organiser and social justice activist from Sri Lankan Tamil heritage\, born in Norway and presently living in Southgate\, North London. Liba has been using his poetry for grassroots change as a community activist and involved in the local poetry/spoken word scene in London through readings at various venues. \nShohid Rahman: Shohidur Rahman is or tries to be a poet and writer of prose\, based in North London\, though he is originally from Leeds (and Bangladesh). He has written poems\, short stories and pieces for theatre\, and been published in various places\, such as ‘Riptide Journal’ and ‘The Guardian Weekend’. \nMs Defiance – Nina Simone meets Bertolt Brecht. The entrance to the venue is step-free and there is a wheelchair-accessible toilet. Karamel is dog-friendly\, so feel free to bring your furry friends if they’ll enjoy it. \nOriginally founded and run by vegan activists\, today it’s operated by Collage Arts (a charity supporting the local community) and managed by the lovely Kath who\, together with her charming husband Roger\, also prepares the delicious homemade food served there… in very generous portions 😉 and at fairly affordable prices! \nFor well over a decade now\, Karamel has been at the heart of London’s vegan community\, helping it reach its current size – for example: \ngiving a new home to London Vegan Drinks (Europe’s largest vegan social gathering at the time!) when it outgrew its preceding venues providing a welcoming environment for LGBTQ+ vegans (inclusivity and safeguarding having always been a central tenet of theirs) with Fat Gay Vegan’s Queer Vegan Disco throwing official or de facto afterparties for many Animal Rights marches and protests Nowadays\, they host our sister event\, the regular board game event Geekstraveganza (as they’ve done since its inception in 2016)\, and a lot of other wonderful events for the local area and the wider London vegan community.

What does it mean to be British—yesterday\, today\, and tomorrow? \n‘BRITISH MUCH?’\, a scratch night that celebrates the stories\, voices\, and experiences of women in Britain. This event will provide a platform for artists to explore Britain’s evolving identity through new writing\, spoken word\, and performance. By blending emerging and established work\, we will reflect on themes of belonging\, heritage\, and the shaping of the future. A celebration of the many identities that make up the nation today. Britishness in Flux – Who gets to define it? How has it changed over generations? Rooted & Routed – Stories of those whose heritage spans beyond the UK and whose lives are deeply woven into its fabric. \nReminded Productions is a Female-led\, Bold\, Unapologetic\, new production company. At Reminded Productions\, we create work that amplifies the untold stories of the voiceless\, with a particular focus on placing female writers at the forefront. Our mission is to produce compelling narratives through a female-centred lens\, championing diverse perspectives that deserve a platform. We are Joanne and Paxina\, co-founders of Reminded Productions. We met at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama\, where our shared love for performance and storytelling brought us together. Over three years of training in BA Acting\, we honed our craft and discovered theatre’s power as a vehicle for change. As women of Black & Mixed heritage from working-class backgrounds\, we understand the importance of representation and the need to create spaces where unheard voices can be amplified. They’re kindly hosting us for free\, so please make sure to buy some of their delicious food and drinks to show your support. \n🤗 All are welcome\, and we strive to make the event a safe and inclusive space for everyone: no discriminatory or abusive behaviour of any kind will be tolerated.
