DESCRIPTION:Doors open 2pm\, music from 3pm. \nSUNDAY AFTERNOON JAZZ with Dave Green\, bassist and Sam Braysher\, saxophonist. \nLine-up: Dave Green – bass\, Sam Braysher – alto saxophone\, Josh Morrison – drums. \nDave Green – No musician can have covered more of the British jazz scene than bassist Dave Green. From Humphrey Lyttelton to Stan Tracey\, not to mention some of the grandest visitors to Ronnie Scott’s\, he has understood and underpinned them all. \nGreen’s first public performances were with his childhood friend Charlie Watts in the late 1950s. While performing with Humphrey Lyttelton from 1963 to 1983\, Green also played with the Don Rendell–Ian Carr band in the early 1960s\, and went on to play with Stan Tracey. In the early 1980s\, Green led his own group\, Fingers\, featuring Lol Coxhill\, Bruce Turner and Michael Garrick Green regularly backed visiting American stars at Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club\, including Coleman Hawkins\, Ben Webster\, Roland Kirk and Sonny Rollins. Green has also performed and recorded with Dave Newton\, Didier Lockwood and Spike Robinson. In 1991\, Green was a founding member of Charlie Watts’s quintet\, together with Gerard Presencer\, Peter King and Brian Lemon. \nSince 1998\, Green has led a trio featuring Iain Dixon and Gene Calderazzo\, and since 2009\, he has been a member of The ABC&D of Boogie Woogie\, with Ben Waters\, Axel Zwingenberger and Charlie Watts\, performing at the Lincoln Center with Bob Seeley and Lila Ammons. \nSam Braysher saxophonist – ‘I can’t think of another alto saxophonist with a sound quite like Sam Braysher’s’ ★★★★ (Dave Gelly\, The Observer) \n‘Braysher’s cool\, modernist twist on old songs is just superb’ (Simon Adams\, Jazz Journal) \nDoors open 2pm\, music from 3pm. Tonight they are expanding into a quartet with Dave Ingamells on drums and featuring saxophonist Josephine Davies. \nThese London-based musicians are drawn to the interactive potential of the jazz piano trio\, taking inspiration from some of the great facilitators of group improvisation in jazz\, Bill Evans\, Jimmy Guiffre and Miles Davis. Featuring the lyrical improvising voice of Amy Baldwin and Simon Purcell’s original compositions and reimagined standards. \nTonight they are joined by saxophonist Josephine Davies. DESCRIPTION:Doors open 7pm\, music starts at 8pm. \nLine-up: Oscar Lawrance – sax\, Ollie Canham – guitar\, Adam Roberts – bass\, Dominic Johnson – drums. \nIntroducing the Ollie Canham Quartet! \nOllie will be bringing his quartet featuring Oscar Lawrance on sax\, Adam Roberts on bass and Dominic Johnson on drums. They will be playing Ollie’s original and music by the band’s favourite musicians and influences. \nOllie Canham is a guitarist/composer from north London now based in Birmingham. He is currently in his final year studying jazz at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. In June 2023 Ollie won the Mike Gibbs Composition and Arranging Prize for his big band chart ‘Near’ and in 2022 he and bassist Adam Roberts co-won the Phil Miller Guitar Prize. Ollie is currently working on an album of original music for quartet and big band with a focus on combining math rock and jazz. DESCRIPTION:Doors open 7pm\, music starts at 8pm. \nLine up: Anmol Mohara (Drums and Eastern percussion)\, Silvia Leonzio (Vocals)\, Toby Daintree (Guitar)\, Simeon May (Flute and Tenor Sax)\, Rory Hudson (Electric Bass). \nAnmol Mohara is a Drummer/Tabla player/Composer who has been playing and performing for over a decade. Anmol’s musical journey began at Nepal Music Center in Kathmandu\, Nepal where he received a residential scholarship from December 2009 to March 2015\, honing his skills in drums\, tabla\, and traditional Nepali folk percussion instruments. He has received two national awards; ‘UK Young Drummer Of The Year’ (2017) and ‘Yamaha Future Beat’ (2018). In 2023\, Anmol graduated from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama with a first class in jazz percussion. He has worked with Nicolas Meier\, Antoine Fafard\, Phil Meadows\, Gareth Lockrane and Loz Speyer. \nAnmol’s music is a blend of traditional Nepali music with jazz and other groove-based genres.
