Poetry: My Life in Pictures

Five poetry-making workshops in which we will examine who we think we are. Keeping Shakespeare’s Seven Ages of Man as our rough template and narrowing it down to five, we will examine our lives from babyhood to the present and even venture into the future. As well as reading a relevant poem or two, we will use photos and other aids to provoke and stimulate our memory and imagination, finishing the course with poem sequences unique to our own personal histories.

Funky Fridays: Superdread presents Dance Music DJs

Following on from that he launched a 12 years non stop coast to coast tour of the USA stopping off in Atlanta, Baltimore, D.C, Chicago, Detroit, L.A, Canada, The Caribbean & more.  He played legendary clubs like “GlamSlam”, “The Tunnel” & “Limelight”.   And worked with legendary labels like 8-ball, Giant Step & Moonshine. This then led to 2 years living & working in Europe. Playing at P1 Club in Munich, Jimmyz, in Monte Carlo, & St. Germain Paris established his reputation as a top DJ , and then, London was next.

Brixton was the first port of call with the Supadred conceived “Armaghetto” at the Fridge Club. A weekly live extravaganza of 50 plus international artists of varying description remains Brixton’s largest, most critically acclaimed and highest budgeted local music event.

Much of Supadred’s work in London has taken place in the West End. Serving as the Atlantic Bar (Astorbar) resident for several  years as Saturday headliner, and he’s had many high profile bookings – like the BRITS & MOBO after-parties and the football awards.

With current residencies  in Muswell Hill/Crouch End & “Maze Inn” Southgate, and recent production work for the German “Kosmo” label his multi-genre, classic groove style is instant gratification. Fusing funk, soul and roots with club classics. Sexy ethnic rhythms and deep house power. As a multi-instrumental musician, live textures are often used to augment the sets. Supadred is an old way of doing new things.
