It’s Paris Motel’s Album Launch! Tonight for the first time, playing you their new record at the KMC, It’s an honour and a pleasure to be hosting Amy and Co. Described by the Guardian as ‘Exquisite chamber folk-pop… One of the most purely lovely things you’ll hear this year.’ They’re not wrong!

Chris Simmons

Chris is back at the KMC with his new record. Chris has written with Chris Difford and Jackson Browne to name but two, and is a songsmith whose tunes wear gold, velvet waistcoats. Always brilliant live Chris is a firm favourite at the KMC and we’re delighted to welcome him back.

Doors open 7.30pm. Free entry all night.

This is a comical show weaving the song ‘Old McDonald’ with the story of the Three Pigs. The pigs get fed up singing ‘eieio’ and move out of the barn to the other side of the farm. They build their own houses only to be visited by a hungry wolf. Luckily, our pigs have planned ahead and have enough dog toys to play with.

This colourful, solo show is ideal for younger children, playing from 3 years old and up. The children help identify farm produce, sing, take part as animals and rear pigs.

Show starts at 11am
£4.50 for children, adults free with child
Our restaurant will be open after the performance with a selection of light lunch.

Booster Cushion Theatre for children was formed in 1989 and has toured extensively throughout the UK and Ireland. From The Shetlands to Guernsey, via Gt. Yarmouth, Holyhead and Galway. We have presented over 4000 performances to nearly half a million people and we still love performing.

We are delighted to be given this opportunity to present all of Booster Cushion Theatre comical productions during the 2012 season at Karamel in The Chocolate Factory 2. If you miss this one, our next show is Hansel, Gretal and You… Who? on Sat 23rd June.

Matt Deighton

Unequalled as a guitarist and oozing 1970s class, Matt is considered a legend by those who know. From Mother Earth to Paul Weller and Oasis, it is Matt’s solo stuff that the worl should be talking about. Gentle, soulful and utterly entrancing. As the Sunday Times said: “Songs that sound like they’ve been constructed on a riverbank at dawn”.

Super Lucky Steve

With a hint of Chris Difford and Ian Drury about his lyrics, Bongo writes funny, gritty and insightful lyrics about everyday life in a way that you thought was lost these days. A great writer and energetic performer, it’s a pleasure to be welcoming him for the first time.

Romy Deighton

A first visit from one of the undoubted stars of tomorrow, the second she opens her mouth the musical heritage is obvious. A most tremendous voice with bucketfuls of soul, Romy is only 16 years old and already writing incredible tunes.

Emily Lee

We’re very excited to be bringing you Emily Lee. With hints of Janice Joplin, Etta James and Billie Holiday, she is another undoubted one to watch. Do not miss her!

Pipers 3

The unique sound of Pipers 3 is produced by three remarkable oboists who form one of Europe’s leading oboe trios. Since their inception in 1990, audience have continued to be captivated by the wide range of sound and expression that is characteristic of this trio and are amazed by the variety and quality of their repertoire. They have appeared on BBC Radio 3, and performed in venues including Wigmore Hall and the Purcell Room, as well as venues throughout the UK.

Woodwork

Woodwork, the Guildhall School of Music and Drama’s recorder consort consists of recorder players from both undergraduate and post-graduate courses. Playing on a vast array of instruments ranging from six inches to six feet long, they are rapidly gaining a reputation for colourful performances of music ranging from the medieval period to modern day with pieces by Karel Van Steenhoven, Maki Ishii, Arvo Part, Anette Zigenmeyer, Gavin Bryars and more.

Adam Masterson

Adam has played everywhere from small London clubs to the Millenium Stadium with The Stereophonics. A voice that has all the best bits of Springsteen and The Faces. Adam’s currently finishing his third solo record. We can’t wait to have him at the KMC for the first time.

Charlie Snelling

A guitarist in the vein of Nick Drake and Matt Deighton, Charie is a touch of class. Pastoral folky cool but with an indie undertone. Delighted to finally be welcoming Charlie to the KMC!

Nia

Nia is only 19 and is already writing lyrics to blow your brain. She smoulders with a bluesyness that will turn your eyes arctic azure. She’s something special, don’t miss her and remember where you saw her first!
