THE HIDDEN SHAMAN by Fiona Carson

The title of the exhibition refers to my interest in ritual objects and the dynamicrole that art-making can have in personal development. I am interested in objectsthat have an enigmatic presence or ritual function. I like the chaotic energy, vitalityand density of organic forms. The work inhabits the spaces between textiles,sculpture and painting. I tend to work in series in response to a particular material,process, place or archetype.

    The two buildings, Chocolate Factory 1 and Chocolate Factory 2, house over 220 creative businesses involved in a wide range of disciplines from fine art, music production, fashion and jewellery to film, graphic design, photography, new media and illustration companies.

    Studios vary in size, from 200 sq ft to 1,500 sq ft with many of them used as shared workspaces. Studio rents start from £11.50 per sq ft per annum and include:

    * business advice and support.
