Collage Presents Jazz continues nearly every Thursday at the fabulous vegan venue Karamel!
Highlights this season include a monthly residency by Tristan Mailliot (drummer) bringing his Quartet with Tom Ridout (saxophonist – BBC Young Musician 2016 Jazz Award Finalist), Chris Eldred (pianist) and Flo Moore (bassist); The Loire Funk Project with the formidable Gareth Lockrane (flautist) “…a stunning display of sharp-accented runs, earthy whoops and constantly refreshed melodic ideas.” John Fordham, The Guardian, Mark Ridout (one of UK’s most sought after guitarists) and Will Barry (piano); and Jacqui Hicks (vocals/sax, toured with Shakatak, Matt Bianco) and her Quartet. Showcasing for the first time at Karamel are: Gemini Trio, Big Momma’s House, Gege Diodato, Weegee, Paul Westwood FX, Wendy Kirkland, the Toots Project and Rising stars of Tomorrow’s Warriors bringing their fresh take on modern jazz.
Expect something new and progressive alongside jazz standards, blues and funk.
