ICUD International conference
Manoj Ambasna, Executive Director of Collage Arts, was one of the speakers at the international conference on Digital Discrimination and Social Networks in Barcelona on 13th and 14th March.
He presented about Collage Arts’ pilot workshops and findings in the EU funded partnership project ICUD (Internet: Creatively Unveiling Discrimination) led by CEPS Barcelona. The Collage approach used arts and creativity to explore identity, self-disclosure, online safety and the needs of young people, developing into strategies to challenge discrimination.
The conference comprised of presentations and current thinking on digital divide, digital discrimination, social networks, education, young people and brought together researchers, educators, activists, young people and organisations from across Europe to engage in dialogue and debate.
Held at the CCCB contemporary cultural centre in the heart of Barcelona, the conference was well attended, streamed live and had a flurry of social networking throughout the two days.
The next step of the project is to create an Anti-Discrimination Pack for young people, educators and parents to be widely distributed across Europe in an attempt to build awareness of the issues and provide tools to help combat digital discrimination.
